Here's an example of an order for documents made through BC's freedom of information legislation. Notice that it's a written statement for documents (rather than a question). That's all there is to it.  BC's freedom of information legislation simply attempts to give you an assurance that you can access most documents in public institutions. (Read the actual section of the BC Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.)
